Oh hey there!
My name is Liv, and Iet’s just say that I like to stay busy. Whether it be turning spin classes into dance parties, latest thoughts into blogs, finance into fun, or impact into books, this is me.
Why?
Because life is more than your career, relationship, fitness regimen, balance sheet , self-growth journey, or even your peace.
Don’t get me wrong - all of these are good things. ... but you are much more versatile than just one thing.
Often, we can find ourselves falling into practices that only reflect one aspect of all that we are capable of when in reality, life is a beautiful blend of the various practices we pursue which then progress us into who we are and more importantly - who we become.
So what do you say? I think it’s time we find wisdom & grace in aligning our lifestyles to live in practice for ourselves and others.
FULL DISCLOSURE- I’m just as much on this journey as you are. I’ve had the privilege of expressing my purpose through multiple practices that range different careers, some being financial planning and fitness. In Practice,
LIV SHIN
More than ever before, our lives have become…
...well, how do I say it?
Mushed...?
Home is now often the same place that we work.
Dinner tables aren’t just set with utensils but computers to serve as our “catch up block” on emails.
Beds may put our bodies down to rest, but don’t be fooled - our minds scroll social media to stay in touch with loved ones...or that next new trend.
Family extends beyond blood – work husbands, best friends, and yoga instructors have managed to infiltrate our circles...sometimes, in the best way possible.
Why is this?
Something is happening. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a shadow side to everything, but I like to see the light, and there definitely is...that is, when practiced with intention.
It’s like we crave this comprehensive alignment that stems from a desire to be authentic in every aspect of our lives. The places we spend time at and how we pursue our lives create the communities that become home and the family no longer defined by blood type.
The challenge is when we pursue this desire fully with no expectations or boundaries. Let me explain -
• We expect our colleagues to be our best friends.
• We hope our employee benefits includes yoga classes, wellness incentives, and don’t forget the coffee bar (beer carts will do, too)
• We wish our partner to be aligned as our part-time therapist, full-time lover, and handy business consultant for that new venture.
As an entrepreneur, I want my passions to become my side hustles, ideas to become standardized operating procedures, and friends to become my clients. I want my values to be aligned and expressed in all that I do.
I feel this way ALL the time.
Alignment.
well, that’s a much better word than “mushed”.
I believe that living in alignment is possible – but it requires a level of discernment & openness to lifelong learning and patient grace along the way.
This is what I strive for this space to be all about – holistic health and growth in some of my favorite areas – faith/fellowship, fitness and finances. If I’m being of the times, some may label it a lifestyle brand. For me, it’s a stab at living into my fullest expression...and I believe that this can be for you, too.
This site has different areas I’ve invested in so allow it to be a hub for the areas you hope to explore in your life, too.
Whether it be interested in taking the next step in financial planning as you gear up for retirement, exploring books I’ve written to promote diversity amongst special needs, blogposts to inspire living in practice, or just another second set of eyes to remind you that I’m also just human, you are in the right place!
